What Does LLS Do to
Cure and Conquer Cancer
LLS’s ongoing advancements have significantly contributed to the doubling and tripling of blood cancer survival rates; in some cases, survival rates have even quadrupled. Many therapies supported by LLS not only benefit blood cancer patients but are also now being used to treat rare forms of stomach and skin cancers.

These therapies are also being tested in clinical trials for patients with various other cancers, including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic, and prostate. LLS-funded drugs are even being explored for use in treating non-cancerous diseases such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and multiple sclerosis.
LLS, with the support of volunteers like me, is changing the face of blood cancer!
All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax-deductible. Your contributions will support LLS research, patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services.

After almost 48 years, I recently lost my wife, Jan Lilien. Like The Little Prince, Jan and I believed that “The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched, they are felt with the heart.” This blog is a collection of my random thoughts on love, grief, life, and all things considered.
