How Your Donation
Can Make a Difference
At the start of this post, I highlighted a pressing issue: the recent cuts in federal funding for cancer research. In response, I’m setting an inspiring challenge for my third Big Climb: to raise an ambitious $3,000! As I write this post, we have already raised $1,250, or 42% of the goal, once my initial matching donation is posted on Monday. Your donation could be the key to reaching our target and significantly impacting the fight against cancer.
Last year, I proudly raised $1,414, thanks partly to my commitment to match every donation dollar for dollar. This year, we can go even further! No matter the size, every contribution is crucial in our fight to conquer and cure cancer. We can create a significant impact, so let’s unite our efforts and improve lives!
As I have every year, I will match every donation.
- A $25 donation will raise $50.
- A $36 donation will raise $72.
- A $100 donation will raise $200.
- A $250 donation will raise $500.
Every dollar donated will not only be matched but will also make a difference.
If we raise $3,000 together, we can unlock a world of possibilities that will significantly impact, including one of the following options.
- Your support will help fund a three-week research fellow at LLS. This fellow will be involved in groundbreaking research that could lead to significant advancements in the fight against blood cancers or
- Your support will enable LLS researchers to isolate T-cells from the blood of three patients, which will be used in a promising experimental immunotherapy clinical trial or
- Additionally, it will cover six weeks of essential one-on-one and group support for families affected by LLS.
My wife died from Lymphoma, and nothing I can do will bring her back. But together, we can help those who, every three minutes, hear the words, “You have cancer,” become a survivor.
After almost 48 years, I recently lost my wife, Jan Lilien. Like The Little Prince, Jan and I believed that “The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched, they are felt with the heart.” This blog is a collection of my random thoughts on love, grief, life, and all things considered.
