Believing in Myself While Hustling for Real Change
Estimated reading time: 1 minute, 28 seconds“I’m on a deadline for a grant. Can you help me?”
“Yes, how can I be of assistance?”
It’s the third call this week, all for different purposes.
Each request is, on the surface, simple.
I need some letters of support for the grant and the project’s next phase.
I open my digital Rolodex and make a few calls. One conversation at a time, I connect people with a common goal.
Life without Jan or a full-time job has become one hustle after another, but it is what is needed. Am I now merely a connector?
When I doubt myself, I am reminded,
Believe in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside of you that is greater than any obstacle.
Renewed confidence helps me understand that grief has been a great teacher, forcing me out of the shadows into the daylight.
In the bright light of the new day, I learned I was stronger than I thought and was not only a widow.
However, in the darkest hours, Jan’s words of wisdom comfort me.
Richard, you are capable and strong, and I believe in you.
Jan’s love is enduring, and I share it freely with all who need her love!
