Fourteen Moves, the First Without Jan
Estimated reading time: 0 minutes, 50 secondsSince I graduated from college in 1971, I have lived in fourteen different places.
After 1975, when Jan and I married, each move was with her by my side.
When Jan and I moved into 3D, I told a new neighbor that I was looking forward to living in 3D as I had spent too much of my life living in one dimension. It seemed humorous at the time.
I am now living in 3B and no longer am 3D. Now the fun part of unpacking begins.
Even though I moved without Jan next to me, her spirit is with me now and forever.
Our love will never die.

Chris from Ambeli's Greek Restaurant
Estimated reading time: 0 minutes, 50 secondsJan and I have always believed that we live in a community, and the community supports us.
The truth of that statement was made clear the day I moved from 3D to 3B.
My son, Mike, had stopped by to help and take the rocking chair, a bookcase for Nick and Wes, and books.
Someone else was moving in, and her moving van was in front of the building.
My friend Chris who owns Ambeli’s, the world’s best greek restaurant, walked down to ask if I was moving and had not told him.
“No,” I responded. “I am only movineg from one apartment to an adjacent one.”
“I feel better,” responded Chris. “You are a friend and I would not want to lose you.”
We agreed I would stop by, and we could dine together.
“Stop by after 7:30 and I will have more time,” said Chris.
When Jan was in the hospital, Chris was very supportive and provided her with Avgolemono, a traditional Greek lemon chicken soup. I will forever be grateful to Chris for his friendship and support.
