Anxious People by Fredrik Backman, a poignant comedy about a crime that never occurred. A would-be bank robber disappears into thin air, and eight highly anxious strangers find they have more in common than they ever imagined. Anxious People is a novel that Jan and I would have both enjoyed reading. It jumped off the ebook shelf while looking for a new book to read.
Only Controlling What is in My Control
One of the difficult lessons we struggle to learn is to focus on what is in our control. To achieve this, we must let go of the worry about what is out of our control.
It all seems so easy.
The graphic tells the story clearly and concisely of what is in our control.
- My thoughts and actions
- What I give my energy to
- How I speak to myself
- The goals I set
- How I spend my free time
- How I handle challenges
- My boundaries
When Jan was alive, she helped me focus only on what I could control, and I did the same for her.
If I am to be healthy and manage my grief, I need to focus only on what I can control so that I can share Jan’s love.
