Stranger in a Strange Land
Estimated reading time: 0 minutes, 42 secondsToday, I live in a new and very confusing world. The hole in my heart remains the same size it was when Jan died.
Family, friends, and neighbors do their best to help me. Despite all the support, I feel like a stranger in a strange land.
As Michaela in Joyce Carol Oates‘s Breathe said;
As if a life lived with strangers could compensate for the emptiness in your heart.
Having lost the emotional intimacy with Jan, I struggle to balance the emptiness caused by the hole in my heart and the friendship of strangers in a new world.
